How To Get a Library Card

If you are a Wisconsin resident:

It's easy to get a library card. Stop in the library or bookmobile to register. You will need some form of photo ID and proof of current address to sign up for a library card. Local patrons who are residents of Juneau and Marquette County will need to fill out two forms, and your library card will be mailed to you from the Winding Rivers Library System (Juneau County) or Winnefox Library System (Marquette County.)

Cards are issued for immediate use and may be used the same day they are issued. Those residents that are under 18 will need to have a parent or legal guardian complete a permission slip before a card can be issued. Please notify the library if your card is lost or stolen so that we can prevent others from using your card.

If you are a visiting patron:

Visitors and seasonal residents can sign up for a temporary library card. You will need some form of photo ID and proof of a local address to sign up for a temporary library card. You will also need to commit a $20 deposit, which you will get back minus any late fees or lost items. Patrons can check out two items at one time with a temporary card.

Virtual Library Card:

To get your virtual library card, fill out a short online form  and we'll send you a new library card number via email within 48 hours. You'll have instant access to our online resources. To apply for a virtual card, you must be a local resident.

Internet Only Card:

Internet only library cards are available for those who wish to only use our internet services. You will need some form of photo ID to present at the circulation desk to sign up for an internet only library card.
